Paramount Pictures is an American film and television production and distribution studio and the main namesake subsidiary of Paramount Global, which is the parent of Nickelodeon that airs It's Pony. It was founded in 1912 as "Famous Players Film Company", and later founded as "Paramount Pictures Corporation" in 1914, by W. W. Hodkinson. Paramount is part of the Big Five companies of 1912, after Gaumont Film Company (1895), Pathé (1896), followed by Nordisk Film (1906), and Universal Pictures (1912). Film producer Adolph Zukor put 22 actors and actresses under contract and honored each with a star on the logo in 1916. Paramount Pictures became the first major Hollywood studio to distribute all of its films in digital form only in 2014. The company's headquarters and studios are located at 5555 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, California. Paramount is the Motion Picture Association of America member. Gallery[]
